History
Swaffham Raceway opened in the 1950's, running various forms of hot rods and stock cars. Bangers started to make there appearance there during the 1960's. In the 1990's a promotion called 'Trackstar' (who now run Kings Lynn) ran the track, where it featured some of the best racing and crashing we're ever likely to see in the sport. In 2001 Trackstar pulled out of running the track, which left the gates open to Spedeworth who started promoting the meetings there in 2002. Sadly however, it was a short lived venture, as Spedeworth were making a loss on the track. Despite having some decent action, the public intrest was low and they finished promoting there at the end of 2006. For around a year, it remained uncertain about what the furture of the once legendary raceway would hold, until breaking news was heard just as 2008 had begun - Shawn Mason, previous promoter of Bangers at Kings Lynn, was to be running the track from now on.
